Laptop model number identification guide

Finding the make or manufacturer of your laptop should be relatively easy. Firstly, look at the outside of the lid of your laptop, the manufacturer name and logo will be printed onto it. If the manufacturer name is not clear, look around the bezel (the plastic strip around the outside of the screen). The logo and name of the manufacturer should be printed onto it.

Finding the model number of your laptop may be a little more difficult. Sometimes the model number is printed on the bezel itself, although often this is a series number - rather than the actual model number. To find the exact model number, unplug your laptop from its charger and turn it upside down, most often the model number is printed on a label on the underneath of the laptop.
